Aeschynanthus:
Asia and Oceania. 34 varieties come from Southern China alone; others
from India, the Philippines, Java, Malaysia, New Guinea and the Solomon
Islands.
Columnea:
Tropical Middle and South America. Columnea also grows epiphytically
on trees in its native countries. |

Use: |
Easy-care, persistent house plant. Some varieties are better suited in
containers, others are ideal for hanging baskets. |

September until February, depending on the variety. |

Location:
|
As
bright as possible but no direct sun. Warm with a higher humidity is most
ideal. Temperatures less than +5°C are not recommended |

Care:
|
Cold
water leads to damages. The plant likes occasional sprays; however, this is
not necessary. It needs a rest period in the summer so that flowers can form again
in autumn.
